SUMMARY: The Strategy Officer contributes to Modern Teacher, a Stride, Inc. company’s overall mission by leading and supporting seamless integration of the Modern Teacher Platform in addition to supporting Professional Learning for client districts. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with personalized, blended, and competency-based learning as well as leading school systems through second-order change.Modern Teacher partners with school districts to support the transition from traditional classrooms to modern learning environments. Housed in a cloud-based platform, Modern Teacher’s proprietary Framework and Professional Learning provides school districts the path and tools they need to achieve personalized, blended, and competency-based learning at scale. Success in this role will depend on the ability to efficiently work in a fast-paced environment paired with the ability to seek creative solutions to the challenges of supporting a rapidly developing business alongside the evolution of education in today’s world. This position is all remote and reports to the CEO. This position is part of a larger collaborative team you will have access to and mentorship from leadership and team members. This position requires frequent travel. Travel will be primarily regional with some national travel as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Client Engagement Services:
Support districts with the transition to personalized, blended, and competency-based learning
Lead district teams through second-order change using Modern Teacher’s Digital Convergence Framework
Provide professional learning on the topics of personalized, blended, and competency-based learning to district leaders and coaches using the Modern Teacher Platform and content (content and training provided)
Account Management:
Manage all activities for accounts assigned including fulfilling onsite days and providing virtual support
Ensure retention of clients over the initial contract terms of engagement and then the renewal of the contract including selling additional products/services, as needed
Manage schedule to ensure efficient fulfillment across accounts and aligned to effective travel cost management
Administrative documentation for client services and hours via Salesforce
Maintain Account Summary Logs
Submit Expense reports weekly
Content Development:
Provide input into the design and consistency of the fulfillment process including content that comprises the methodology for Digital Convergence and supporting professional learning
Provide input to the design and development of new content and materials
Testing and feedback on new technology in the Modern Teacher Platform
Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have proven track record of working as part of a senior management team and leading strategy through strong relationship building and entrepreneurial skills.
Success in this role will depend on the ability to work in a fast-paced environment efficiently paired with the ability to seek creative solutions to the challenges of supporting a rapidly developing business along with the evolution of education in today’s world. This position is based remotely and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. This position is part of a larger collaborative team and you will have access to and mentorship from leadership and team members.
The Chief of Sales will oversee the establishment and development of a vibrant pipeline of businesses and potential partnerships to enhance our opportunities within target strategic markets. This role is very hands-on; the successful candidate should expect to fully understand the EdTech industry, K12 personalized, blended, and competency- based education, and should deeply understand consultative sales. The ideal candidate is one who has grown a team to scale, is comfortable managing a team of independent sales representatives, and who comes with a healthy, network of key relationships.

National focus on growing the Modern Teacher Network
Develop and implement partnership strategy to increase the reach and impact of Digital Convergence in established Sales regions
Strategize and provide thought leadership within the Modern Teacher Leadership Team
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure and execute business initiatives, lead analysis, and develop and communicate final recommendations for growing partnerships
Develop systems and procedures in support of the identification, engagement, and development of strategic partnerships; qualify incoming partnership approaches
Project and promote Modern Teacher business initiatives to new markets and partners
Develop and manage reporting and financial tracking of sales activities
Develop, negotiate and manage partner agreements including negotiating contracts
Deliver professional sales presentations to potential partner organizations, with the ability to persuade and close business
Provide timely and accurate reporting of pipeline, strategic partnerships, and management activities
Research trends and competition to strategically drive the Modern Teacher business development pipeline
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position supervises regional sales representatives and sales and marketing operations team members.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will be well-connected to the top 100 US K12 school districts
Proven ability to find strategic partnerships that drive revenue and market penetration
Proven ability to negotiate and work with high level executives
Strong analytical skills (financial, planning, operational)
Demonstrated drive to solve problems in a matrix team environment and lead with high energy and a positive attitude
Tangible experience of having expanded and cultivated existing partnerships over time
Experience of working as part of a senior management team and leading strategy
Strong relationship building skills and an entrepreneurial approach that leverages further opportunities
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and excellent relationship building skills.

Eight (8) years of experience in business development and/or partner channel creation and management backed by a strong understanding of sales processes and workflows, high school diploma or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

We anticipate the salary range to be $130,000 to $150,000. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
